sppsvc.exe is eating lot of process

Hello can anyone tell me what is sppsvc.exe?
as it eats a lot of memory mostly it eats 5-6 M.B's & it starts after 30 mins after turning my computer
if i disable it by going to Services.msc
my desktop goes black & says Windows is not Genuine
If i enable it once again then it eats a lot of memory & process around 5-6 MB's every time!!
Is there any way to prevent sppsvc.exe from eating memory around 5-6 MB's
    any help please ASAP !!!
    Thanks!!

5 OR 6 MB is like a thimble of water in the Pacific Ocean. Do not stop sppsvc.exe.
As you have found out it is needed for Windows to be authenticated by Microsoft. It probably does more but I don't know what.
If I may ask what made you search out something so small on your computer? Is their a problem with your computer we can help you with?

i also had some problem, i managed my task schedule and its works on me :)

    here it is ,
open Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tool > open "schedule tasks"

    go to
task scheduler library / Microsoft / Windows / SoftwareProtectionPlatform and Open it

right click on first task > SvcRestartTask, set as Disable
if you find second task or more on it, just delete it. other task make you able to update your windows

it works for me, hope you too
