Good you figured it out. You probably would have noticed a hang in the BIOS POST screen loading the drive.

Hello,
I have a HP dv6 that I force shutdown. Upon reboot, it asks me to do a Windows diagnostic and if I select that option, all I see is a blue screen (not the blue screen of death) and nothing else happens.

But I still go ahead.
It had gone 5 passes, relocate...etc.
Then looks like stop at
Pass 5: 0% consolidated
It's been 40 minutes unchanged up to now, still...
