IT looks like memtest 86+ 5.01 is the same as 5.00RC1 and still has several bugs.
    Running on Sandy Bridge.

And on Ivy Bridge. The highlighted areas are a little different and what is SMP?

Short for Symmetric Multiprocessing, a computer architecture that provides fast performance by making multiple CPUs available to complete individual processes simultaneously (multiprocessing). Unlike asymmetrical processing, any idle processor can be assigned any task, and additional CPUs can be added to improve performance and handle increased loads. A variety of specialized operating systems and hardware arrangements are available to support SMP. Specific applications can benefit from SMP if the code allows multithreading.

SMP uses a single operating system and shares common memory and disk input/output resources. Both UNIX and Windows NT support SMP

I see SMP mentioned more with Linux. Unsure whether that is just a common display in memtest?

Thanks Bill, what I took away after reading is SMP is for systems with multiple physical CPUs and allows them to work individually.
That part of the display is new to the 5.01 version of memtest and I suspect it's a lot different for an AMD system.

SMP 'is for' processors with multiple identical cores that share the same memory space and run a single OS kernel. A kernel has to be aware of this and implement the necessary synchronization locks and memory safety. Windows has been there since late '90s.

Yes, I just restarted the version 5.01 and there are two options, press F1 to enter fail-safe, and Press F2 to force SMP (Multi-core threading)

I guess these scores are adequate for DDR2.

    Hmmph, DDR2...bleah.
