win 7 pro 64bit boots and runs super slow, how to fix?

I have windows 7 pro that has been running perfectly for years, then a couple of days ago it started crawling. My first problem is that I have no idea how to figuring out what is causing the slow down.

I've done a full scan w/ MS security essentials, ran Malwarebytes, and spybotS&D, all of which came back negative for issues.

Can I get some advise as to what I should do next?

    Thanks,
    Oren.

    Hi,

    Lets check for system corruption:

    1. Click Start
    2. In the search box, type cmd
    3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator
    4. In the command window that opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

More info: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Report the output once it finishes.

    Regards,
    Golden

Thanks for the advice, I ran the test, and the good news is there were no errors.
The bad news is I rebooted with a chkdsk on boot, and it looks like I had quite a few bad cluster.
The chkdsk fixed the problems and now she's back to being as speedy as when I bought her.
I think it's time for a new HDD.

This can be considered a closed case.
