730+ MB of memory in use at idle is still insanely high. Now that we have that part confirmed, go back to your process list and find out what's using up that memory.
I think I can take things from here. Thanks guys. One last question, why is windows hitting the page file when it only "needs" 730 mb?
Because somethings are paged, regardless of how much memory is free....which is why it's been shown time and time again, that even when people "think" they are turning off their page file....their system is still using virtual memory.
In Windows, all memory is virtual. Windows doesn't really care where it is. That's what memory management (a sub-system) is for.
