If you have one of the new big drives, 1tb or bigger with a lot of free space it will take a very long time like any other programs that wipes a drive.

Use it on a semi-regular basis and have for years. Never any problems. Could be subjective but I feel like it speeds up my machine a bit for awhile. Can take a bit on larger drives/higher settings.
