I have used it a number of times and never encountered any problems. I do get a "low disk space" warning every time I run it, but it doesn't cause any problems.
I also have use it several times and have never had a problem. Just make sure it states free space only or you will wipe every thing I think.
I have used it several times without any problem as well. Keep in mind that it can take a while to run, depending on the level of overwriting that you choose.
I never had any issue using it but as someone other mentioned it can actually take hours, dont run it if you have things to do,I would suggest a night time run.
Is it normal for it to take up all of my disk space (I only had .10 mb while doing this) than after all of a sudden BLINK! I have 60 gb?
I've never used it and can't answer your questions, but I am wondering..........why is this application useful?
I can certainly understand drive wiping, but this wipes only free space and I'm wondering when that might by desirable or practical?
What problem does it solve?
Um... It deletes deleted files so they can't be used as evidence against you, or so that others can't steal your secret deleted files?
All those things that are deleted are put in $Recycle Bin waiting to be wrote over but not really removed. Wipe Free space does just that writes over them like a clean wipe does before doing a clean install except just the free space which includes $Recycle Bin. One reason as Wrend states it removes what you don't anybody to be able to get and what I use it for is when things like a infection or unwanted cookies are remove. Their/there for I don't use it often. The last time I used it was just after I removed Babylon. I did not want that scum sucking trash to be able to sneak back on my computer. Here is some good information.
Piriform - Changing CCleaner settings
Totally safe to use,but as mentioned, be careful to wipe ONLY free space. It has returned 200 to 300 MB of disk space back. The 35 passes option, takes some time though...
