    Creating New Partition

I get an error message when trying to create a new partition on the hard drive using disk management. After creating an unallocated section I tried to create a New Simple Volume. After going through the paces it ends up saying that the basic disk will be converted to a dynamic disk and you wont be able to run os's or boot from the disk. Which is ok because I just want to store music pics, and some docs on it. I click yes , and then the error message reads. there is not enough space on the disk for this operation.

I would also like to know if I can change the allocated section to a smaller size.

    Thanks for any help.

Can you purchase partition magic anymore?

I suggest using a partition tool instead of windows disk management for this, especially if there is already data on the drive.
