The only thing I would definitely want to have running at startup would be anti-virus.
Windows will run fine with all of the rest of it off. You may have to do some trial and error to see what functionality might disappear if you remove an item from startup. Make a list so you can keep track. If some functionality goes away, re-enable the last thing you removed.
Hello joeyd219,
This really looks like a continuation of your other thread
Which processes can I eliminate
In this case i would use one thread, and ask questions as needed to solve the problem.
If you want a new thread, please reply to your original thread stating you started a new thread, and close "solved" that thread.
With two open threads you may have multiple people trying to solve the same problem without knowing what others have suggested.
I don't want to attempt any help in this thread because i don't know what you did with the suggestions in your other thread from whs and myself.
It shows how to establish a Clean Boot and other suggestions for best performance (Norton is not one of them) in Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
Thanks for your help guys!
And sorry, I'm new to the forum.
