Sudden slow boot after restart left time settings in need of resetting

Im in dire need of some help before my pc goes bang!

I guess you will require my specs. Is there a way of quickly finding all my pc specs?

So the problem... The computer was accidentally shut down using the dreaded sleep button on the keyboard. The only way to restart it is to reboot it. After reboot, I was greeted with the asus splash screen thing which never normally shows. Once the computer booted, the time and date were reset.

It seemed a little slower at this time but not much. This was a few days ago. Now when I start the computer it takes around 5 minutes to boot, instead of 20 seconds as it used to be. It freezes at the windows loading screen and the monitor actually goes into standby stating "no input" after a couple of minutes it comes back on and I can unput my password. I know its not just the screen as when the screen comes on, the windows tune plays, so I know it has only just loaded.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!
