    Undeletable folder

I didn't really have a clue which forum to post this in - so feel free to move it if necessary!

    Win7 Home Premium
    Folder "D:\new vms"
has a number of subfolders - one of which is "Win 8", which is apparently empty.
Somehow I have managed to lose control of that subfolder - and can do absolutely nothing with it any more. All other subfolders are 'normal'

    I've tried
Windows explorer - cannot rename or delete. Properties cannot display security data
Admin CMD - cannot rename, delete, RD, ICACLS, TAKEOWN or anything else - says 'file not found'
Repair Env CMD - as for Windows CMD

    (forgot to add)
CHKDSK /r and CHKDSK /F scans show no problems

Anyone have any idea how to get rid of it? It seems to be blocking backups!

    Hello Noel,

You might give Unlocker a try on it to see if it may be able to delete it. :)

Much to my surprise, it worked! :)

(used the portable version, since I can find other uses for that as well!)

    Thanks, Shawn.
