Extremely slow start

Hi, recently my win7 pro 32bit has some problem during the start; icons on desktop are white and are appearing very slowly; maybe it takes 5 minutes before the system is functioning. In few cases I have to reboot few times before it works!! Could you suggest what do I have to check? Of course reinstalling could be a good idea but gefore doing so I would like to understand what could be corrupted.

Start by installing Malwarebytes,
updating to run a Full Scan.

Then run SFC /SCANNOW Command.

Next from Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 establish a Clean Boot, test your hardware, scan the logs for errors to resolve, utilize System Resources to find solutions to Problems.

After doing the scan above I would also check to see what programs are trying to launch at startup. You can use Autoruns to do so.

You don't need anything in Win7 msconfig to startup except AV. The others are freeloaders which can wait for you to open them.

The exception is sync, gadgets, stickies, a messenger you must have on at all times.

Asus K51AC extremely slow start up
Asus K51AC (windows 7 64 bit) takes a long time to start. When the power on is pressed the CPU gets warm, the fan operates normally and DVD will spin, but it won’t enter BIOS, the keyboard isn’t operating and the screen remains black. If left with power on it will start and run normally of it’s own...
