Delete a LOGICAL PARTITION to increase volume of C drive.

My hard disk was partitioned into 1 primary partition[C drive of 28 GB] and 4 logical partitions[19.5, 39, 39 and 107 GB]. I want to delete one of the logical partition [19.5 GB] to increase the volume of C drive.
Is it possible??? Please help me out.

Hi Joe and welcome to Seven Forums.

The built in Disk Management might be able to do exactly what you want depending on where the 19.5GB partition is located in relation to the C: partition.

How To Access Disk Management in Windows 7

If the 19.5 partition is immediately to the right of the C: partition ( in other words, if the hard drive is set up as C: | 19.5 | 39 | 39 | 107 ) you could format or shrink the 19.5 partition changing it to unallocated space. Then the C: partition could then be extended to incorporate the unallocated space. It's a somewhat complicated process.

    Resize a partition in Vista/Windows 7

Or you could use a different free utility called MiniTool Partition Wizard to do the same thing with a lot less hassle and without worrying about where the 19.5 partition is in relation to the C: partition. This tutorial shows exactly how to extend the C: partition.

Post a snapshot of Disk Management:

To open Disk Management, press Windows key+r, type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter or click GO. Make it full screen.

See here: How to Use the Snipping Tool in Vista - Vista Forums (says it's for Vista but also works with Win 7).

Once you have the image saved, click on the Paperclip Icon next to the Smiley Icon. In the Manage Attachments window, click Browse and navigate to where you saved the image and select it.
    Click the Upload button.
    Close the Manage Attachments window.
Click on the Paperclip Icon again and select the image you uploaded. It will be placed in your post.

You haven' got masses of space.

If you are thinking of deleting D - you need to decode what to do with the data that is on there.

If there is anything you want to keep you need to move it somewhere - to E or G - or somewhere external.

Then you can just use a 3rd party tool - e.g. Partition Wiz - already linked to.

It is very obvious what to do with that.

    You can use Disk Mgmt.

Delete D partition in Disk Mgmt. You then have to delete it again using Delete Volume to get rid of (Logical) Free Space and create instead (Primary) Unallocated Space. Partition or Volume - Delete

You can now Extend C into the Unallocated Space: Partition or Volume - Extend
