svchost.exe high memory usage
hello everyone,
recently my pc has been having some minor 'lag' problems, i think best describes it. Its relatively new with good specs so it should be able to handle the programs that i use on a regular basis easily. I looked in the task manager and sorted processes by highest memory usage, and svchost.exe is at the top with almost 300,000K. here is a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/B4WiA.png This seems out place, as i have asked a few friends with windows 7 if they have something similar, and they dont. The services linked to this particular svchost.exe can be seen here: https://i.imgur.com/KbFbo.png first of all, is this actually a problem, if so, what would be the best way to reduce its memory usage. Thanks for any help |

Your problem is not memory. Not every performance issue comes down to memory usage. It could be the CPU it could be the HDD, it could be a number of things, however, you do not tell us what it is you are doing when it slows down.
And 300MB of memory usage is nothing. |

High Memory usage in svchost with Windows Update Hello all, I just noticed something and wanted to be sure or see if this is normal.
