i had an old acer t650 with a pentium D 920 & max of 2gb ram, nvidia gt520 graphics. ran win7 x64 fine. upgraded the processor to a 950. upgraded the system drive to an ssd. it was fine for general browsing, photoshop, playing dvds & youtube, etc. was a bit slow for some aspects, but it did work. imaging the sys drive took about an hour.

i finally upgraded to a new pc with an i7 quad core and 16gb ram, nvidia gtx650 (and reused my drives) and video conversion/photoshop, etc is much faster. general browsing, downloads, etc somewhat faster but not a lot. i can't type or move the mouse any faster than before. plays games at highest res a lot better tho. imaging same sys drive takes 10 minutes. photo and video enhancement and conversions are a lot quicker.
