One big one for slowing things down during startup, the amount of things that load when Windows starts. How many things are under the Startup tab in msconfig?
I disabled all the crap like itunes, adobe reader, quicktime etc.
I have Intel Core 2 Duo. So i always have the No. of Processes to 2. I have not touched the memory options yet. Also, dont forget to check the Make all boot settings permament.
When you go to run > msconfig > boot > advanced options and check the box of "number of processors (I have a dual core intel) and selected to two (it was greyed out before and set to one), then check the box next to it called "maximum memory" and select "4096", does this help boost performance of open Pandora's box for future problems?
Did you change the number of processors and max memory? I did and my system wouldn't boot. I had to boot into safe mode and change it back.
When I enter "msconfig" into the search box, a window opens that is titled system configuration. Five tabs are shown, and I know that I can choose the "startup" tab and uncheck items to speed up starting and shutting dowm my computer. My question is about the "services" tab. There are sooooooo...
