Windows Media Player taking up a ton of resources

Hi everyone I'm new to the forums!

I've been using x64 build 7600 ultimate for a few months now and recently I've been having this problem with WMP randomly taking up a ton of resources and slowing down my computer considerabley. I never used WMP however everytimr I turn my PC on after about 10 mins I launch the task manager and sure enough wmplayer.exe is running using anywhere from 250,000 to 350,000 resources and I can kill the process but I just don't get it.

Thr program itself is never open I just get the exe that's runs in thr background everything I startup. I tried removing WMP under thr remove windows features, however upon restart it simply says it fails to configure windows changes.

Anyway any help would be awesome!

If your 250,000 to 350,000 resources means KBytes, that would be very unusual because wmplayer.exe is more like 10.000 KBytes. It is also strange that it gets started - by what? It is usually not in the startups, but I would check that anyhow.
Maybe your WMP is corrupted. Run sfc /scannow in Command Prompt and see whether it can fix it.

Yeah it is about 350,00 KByes, I just don't get it, here's a screen shot of what I'm talking about.

Also I took a screen shot of Procmon, I don't know if this is of any help to anyone.
