What antivirus or security program are you running? These can slow a system down sometimes. As a test, you might temporarily disable this program to see how your system runs afterwards. It may need updating.

Hi moshem ,

According to several magazine tests, including the well respected PCPlus -7 opens applications slower than Vista - this will be more noticable with applications that take longer to open anyway - particularly Office 2007. That is how it is . I don't think you can fix it.

I am sure MS are aware of this. They will be trying to make Office 2010 overcome that problem.

I mean, really, are you suffering waiting another 3 seconds for Office to open?

It's a let down to be a fraction slower than you used to be, but you're more secure and other things too. Choose your trade.

In that case - there is something else going on as well.

Hi, my WEI in Vista was 5.9 across the board. Now, in Windows 7 Beta, my Hard Drive speed is down to 2.9!! It's RAID, so I'm sure it's got to be over 5.9. Anyone else experience this? Thanks!
