    What antivirus or security program are you running? These can slow a system down sometimes. As a test, you might temporarily disable this program to see how your system runs afterwards. It may need updating.

    Hi moshem ,

    According to several magazine tests, including the well respected PCPlus -7 opens applications slower than Vista - this will be more noticable with applications that take longer to open anyway - particularly Office 2007. That is how it is . I don't think you can fix it.

    I am sure MS are aware of this. They will be trying to make Office 2010 overcome that problem.

    I mean, really, are you suffering waiting another 3 seconds for Office to open?

    It's a let down to be a fraction slower than you used to be, but you're more secure and other things too. Choose your trade.

    well..

    I haven't heard this experience from anyone else, does your ie opens after 4 seconds ?

    on my other old pentium 4 desktop win 7 launches applications much faster.....
