WEI scores are overrated. They are just a general indication of a computer's performance. One machine could have a higher WEI than another one yet not seem any faster when in use. Other than dubious bragging rights, the main benefit of tracking one's WEI scores is to see if a machine's performance has deteriorated over time.
Jeannie is correct as usual. WEI is a poor mans bench test program and does point to areas that can be improved. When you get to the 7.5+ area you don't feel much difference. You need to jump a whole number or more to feel a difference. Mostly bragging rights, everyone like to keep score.
