True, the hard disk is the one who gets hot faster than any other component in my laptop. However, that doesn't mean that it is the hottest. The highest degree was 75°C/167°F and it was achieved by the CPU and motherboard. The hard disk has reached 57°C/134.6°F so far. I'm surprised to see that in my VM the base score was 4.3 (Windows Vista x64).

The CPU and motherboard have nearly the same temperature every time.

The CPU is always the hottest spot in a laptop because of inadequate cooling

Yep I returned a laptop because it was acting more like a small space heater than a laptop = it was unusable,
Probably more a sign of a defective design/ fan.... as AddRam has pointed out :)

My returned one was not a gaming computer either

Thanks all. As soon as I get the new fans fitted to the H80i tomorrow I'll start putting it through its paces to see what it can do, it's just too bloody loud at the moment.
