You're correct. When I had mine I had it at 4.85 and got 7.7. I think that's all there is. When I sold it, I paid an extra $100 for a 3770K to get another .1 on my WEI. At 5.0 that only gets 7.8, and it's really no faster than the 3570K was.

Are you saying that you did get much "bang for the buck" Steve?

Sure I did, I got .1 increase on my WEI. Everything you get costs something. Santa doesn't visit me very often any more. It's just the price of being an enthusiast. It's an addiction, I can't help it.
EDIT: Now, back to reading about Haswell.

From what I've read, Haswell may be more about lowering voltage then increasing performance. It's bound to have some performance increase, I hope.

What I read, it's back to old time overclocking. Rumor has it that they are going to have to have different frequencies for CPU core and uncore. Which I assume means back to the good old days of FSB. Maybe more like Sandy Bridge-E anyway.

I know what you mean. I've had a terrible struggle restraining myself from building a brand new computer, when the one I have is only 2 years old and perfectly capable.

I don't think Haswell is going to be all that astonishing to be honest. A little lower TDP, a little better on-chip graphics and probably not much else. The first platform to have DDR4 RAM will be the one to look out for.

So here's my new one.
BIOS default settings, no OC yet.
Will update if I succeed, but have been unable to do even minor multiplier asdjustments and POST. Still trying to understand new board.
Cheers,
J
