Overclocking will improve the CPU rating, however, it is never a good idea to overclock a laoptop, and most manufacturers lock the bios so all overclocking features are not there. If you have a custom built desktop, that's a different story. But an OEM desktop still falls in the catagory of the laptop, locked bios.
OK, then depending on the CPU and motherboard, you should be good. My suggestion is do a lot of reading and ask a lot of questions if you are not familar with overclocking. It can be hazardous to your PC's health if done wrong. :) Don't think I am against overclocking, I am overclocked right now. I'm only suggesting you be familar with what happens and how it works for your board and CPU.

Updated my system specs, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the 965 BE overclocks like a dream. I will make every effort to go through tutorials before I overclock!
