Changing the SSD would affect only the Disk Data Transfer Rate and you were already maxed out there.
Yep I was just expecting the better or rather the more recent version of the drive would bring it up a tad but really I am not that stuck on what this reading is as long as the machine doesn't crash again
The highest score is 7.9 for any section, you will already have been scoring 7.9 for your old 830 therefore it would be impossible to improve on it.
The overall score for WEI goes by the lowest scoring components, in your case the gpu

    Paul
"The highest score is 7.9 for any section" except the processor; that's 7.8.

WEI is a bit overrated. The bragging rights are nice but, if your machine is doing what you want it to, then the WEI doesn't really matter. Just don't look at the WEIs from equivalent Win 8 machines. Those will give all of us an inferiority complex (I suspect M$ may have skewed them a wee bit to make their problem child look better).

Of course, if you don't mind a wee bit of cheating, you could have a score like this on a Win 7 machine:

Paul I have only had the 7.3 and I think it really has little relevance to me personally I just want the thing to go quick Only did it for the curiosity value really.

The 830 was already really quick, I doubt you lost anything going to the 840

My 650Ti made my graphic score 7.9, of course your mileage may vary.

    Hmmm, 1600MHz ram? You sure? I think you'd need higher for 7.9. Although I get a 7.7 for my paltry 4Gigs @ 1600MHz.
