Pulled my Crossfired HD7770's and installed a Sapphire HD7950 Vapor-X. Amazon has them for $199 after rebate. Brought my video scores up to 7.9 from 7.5. Next is memory work, I should be able to get it to 7.9 and may even bring the mobo up a point.

The RAM you can get to 7.9 although in reality it's pointless to upgrade RAM just for a tenth of a point, but nothing you can do will bump up your CPU score. No CPU that I'm aware of scores better than a 7.8. In fact, I once saw the WEI of a rig with dual Xeon's and the CPU score was the same as yours lol.
This memory should be a 7.9. I'm not all that satisfied with this Gigabyte 990fxa motherboard. It defaults my 1866 memory to 1366 and I have problems when I OC past 1600. I may be able to do some more tweaking on the bios and get what i want. Thinking about a better mobo, the ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z may be in my future.

The Vapor-X technology really works, I ran P95 all cores at 100% and Kombuster pushing the new 7950 to 100% for a hour. GPU reached 60*C and CPU never when over 51*C. Before with the 7770's I would be low 80's on the gpu's and that would raise cpu to mid 50's, plus I got rid of some fan noise.

Nice one bud, the Vapor-X is very good, mine always stays very cool under all circumstances and when I overclock it to the max too.

Most, if not all, MOBOs now default to 1333, even if the RAM is rated for 1600 without overclocking and the board supports it. I had to go into the UEFI and reset my RAM from 1333 to 1600 when I first set it up.

There is little to be gained running most RAM faster than 1600, especially with larger kits, because the timings, etc. start to degrade as the speed increases and the RAM will also run hotter.
