    Compaq cq60 high cpu usage

    Hello

    I have a Compaq cq60 107ea with windows 7 professional installed.

I wanted to play richard burns rally with the rallye sim mod with i installed, after this install my laptop cpu uasge started to uptp 100%.

I did a virus scan on the file before i installed it and it came up clean, I have also done a full virus scan since this problem has occured and has again come up clean.

The problem is that the laptop seems to be experiencing high cpu usage at times, sometimes it's quick and seems to be working normal and other times it's slow and takes longer to open things up

For example on idle it does go down to 1% or 2%, but at times goes up to the 20% mark, if i try to open something like firefox the cpu goes upto around a 100% and seems to stay around that until the page is loaded.

    Specs:
    Compaq cq60 107ea
    Amd sempron SI-40 2.00ghz
    2gb of ram
    120gb fujitsu hdd
    Nvidia 8200g graphics

The programs i have installed are:
    Hp Support
    Lightscribe
    Avg free 2013
    Core temp

The reason for core temp is I haven't had the laptop long and when i received it was overheating, so i cleaned the fan and reapplied thermal paste, after this it worked fine no troubles at all.

Thankyou for looking, and for any help you offer

Your CPU is a single core so it's normal to see 100% CPU for every task you perform.

Your computer isn't meant to do much. I would say it's time for a new one lol... So the reason why your having trouble running it is because your specs are pretty low. I don't know the game but I can just guess by looking at your specs.
