OK, will now try WDO as I saved it on USB. Did sfc/scannow and it was clean. Have Malawarebytes and Superantispyware; both were clean.
Later, I'll go to the security forum as per DavidW7ncus' suggestion.
    Thanks for the advice.

PS: How do you run WDO? Should I go to BIOS and set it for USB. I cannot see any executable files for WDO, as I did extract mpan-fex64, but nothing happened.

From a clean computer, you download WDO and run it. The instructions walk you thru the steps to create a USB flash drive that you can boot from. (It will format the USB drive - so get any files off first.)

You could change the BIOS to move the USB ports higher in the boot order than the internal hard disk drive or you could tap F12 while booting to get to get to the boot menu - from there, you should be able to select the USB flash drive.

    Avast did it.

I stopped Avast, installed MSE (file is fixed now), and problem is gone. I know from a previous old laptop Pentium 1) that had Avast, it could not handle the antivirus.
