-What about temperature of your hardware and your ventilation set up ?

-Ram adding workplace for your computer, handle bunch program and able to use the computer
    - Since when did you install the O/S
    - Right voltage handled by you mobo ? See info about your stick how should take, Normally its auto, I never seen vice versa and had to setup

It sure depend how is the cadency of the ram and timming

Also, if you hardware is used since 5 year and more ... Performance will be degraded

I work in Isp center and I tell to customer they dont understand, ram is like a secretary and desktop

If the scretary still use a elemantary school desktop and doing lawyer administration maybe she will not handle her work rightly.

There is my answer haha ! :)

Also I already spoke with employee who represented a ram company and he told me, it not because your

memory stick is new doesnt mean error

Try a memtest with live boot cd and try 15 20 pass ! Its take long but if you have any trouble you ill see

and you will honor the guarantee of your new memory stick

skrillek just get some match ram to meet the specification of your system and install it as per the motherboard manual.
Use it set a difault/auto and try it for a while. Let us know how things go. Testing mismatched ram is a waste of time.
**Remember use the motherboard manual for instillation.**

Talk to the place you bought this ram and tell them it does not match. They may, may take it back. You are going to have to have matching Ram one way or the other.

As the Bear said too, install the ram modules to make use of dual channeling. This makes a significant difference in overall speed of the RAM. Your mother board manual will specify the placement of the modules for duel channel. Most will be Slot 1 and Slot 3 but this varies by manufacturer.
