Just got done. SFC didn't find anything anymore, andd Checksur found 18 errors, but couldn't fix one.
Im attaching two CheckSur files since one said persist, doesn't look different from the other log, but in realize I don't understand much of what is included in the logs.

Thank you -VERY- much for your help Noel. Seriously.

The .persist.log file is a running log - it contains the logs of all CheckSUR runs. (so the first time, it is identical to the CheckSUR.log file)

There's still one outstanding file repair to make from the CheckSUR run -
    (f) CSI Payload File Missing 0x00000000 atiilhag.inf amd64_atiilhag.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_019357585ef99a63

    - which for some reason the SFC didn't pick up on

The file should have been replaced, so it may be a simple glitch in the CheckSUR - please run it again, and post the new CheckSUR.log and CheckSUR.persist.log files

Okay, just finished the next one Noel.

It found the error again, attaching the .rar file.
I'm running SFC again as we speak in case that you needed me to.

My mistake - it wasn't one of the files I posted (wood/trees and 2 a.m. posting!)

I'll post a fix protocol for it later.

    I've uploaded a file - eagab.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print theseinstructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, starttapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of whichshould be the option 'Repair my Computer'
    Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
    At the prompt type
    DIR C:\eagab
hit the enter key - if you get a 'NotFound' error try
    DIR D:\eagab
    or
    DIR E:\eagab

The drive letter in use when you find the folder willneed to be substituted (for<drive>) into the followingcommand...

    XCOPY <drive>:\eagab <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

    (e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)andwhen the prompt returns, type
    EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit CommandPrompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in anElevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file

Also run a new CheckSUR scan, and post the log from that.

(note the file link has changed - 'cos I accidentally deleted the entire folder on my SkyDrive!)

Thank you noel, I'll be sure to download it when I get home!
I'll let you know how things go.

Edit: Whoops. Just noticed that thing about skydrive. It keeps redirecting me to my own. Must be my work network.

Hey Noel. Just tried accessing your skydrive from home, unfortunately it is listing that the file is no longer available. No biggie , my system does seem to be running much more stable video wise. I might not need that extra file if SFC is not picking it up, right?

My fault - I accidentally deleted the folder yesterday, and that changed the link when I rebuilt it.

    here's the new link...
