SFC couldn't repair files. Attempted to retrieve from install CD

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could lend me a hand over here.

I've been having issues long time with my dual monitor set up crashing with video playback after a 3d application has been running. Me myself..I'm thinking it might be an issue with the card switching from 3D mode to 2D mode, but anyway.. The errors to point at a STOP 0X116 Video TDR error.

I followed the steps and was requested to follow with an SFC scan command which I did. So upon completion SFC did detect files that were corrupted, most of them have the words ATI/AMD ironically. So I'm believing they might be the culprit for my dual monitor crashes. Now. I did perform a clean driver install before this. So I find weird most of the corrupted files are ATI/AMD.dlls.

But to the point.. obviously those files are not going to be on the windows 7 installation disk.

So how could I go about fixing those corrupted files? I don't believe you can retrieve them from the installation disk as they are AMD files.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

Please allow me to attach the log in case someone might be able to identify the files.

Those .dll files should be inside the AMD Ccc drivers . I believe AMD came out with a new version

They have, but I don't know if I want to go over with Betas right now, as a beta started giving me these issues.

Thank you, I have followed that process already. That's why I found it strange that they appeared in the SFC scan.

Thank you, but I already have those. I thought you were speaking of the newest 13 beta.

This is almost certainly the result of an over-zealous cleanup of ATI drivers.
Have you been using a registry cleaner or some kind of system optimiser?

I'll post a fix protocol a bit later.

    I've uploaded a file - eagaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print theseinstructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, starttapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of whichshould be the option 'Repair my Computer'
    Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
    At the prompt type
    DIR C:\eagaa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'NotFound' error try
    DIR D:\eagaa
    or
    DIR E:\eagaa

The drive letter in use when you find the folder willneed to be substituted (for<drive>) into the followingcommand...

    XCOPY <drive>:\eagaa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

    (e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)andwhen the prompt returns, type
    EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit CommandPrompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in anElevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file

Please also run a CheckSUR scan -

Please downloadand save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

(you'll need tolook in the details for Windows 7, downloading from the Microsoft DownloadCenter)

Run it - The toolcan take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install')depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear tofreeze for most of that time, but be patient.

The result islogged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file

Then zip theCheckSUR.log and attach it to your reply.
