    Mmm. I can't see anything else we can try, except to do a detailed boot trace using this:

    Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace

    I'll ask cluberti to take a look at this this for you.

    I have thought of considering an SSD but before that want to make sure that I have done everything I can to make it run faster on the existing HDDs. If nothing helps, then will have to go for an SSD or make peace with the slow booting till the prices of SSDs come down a bit.

    I am closely following the instructions posted in the thread on creating a boot trace and will post it when it's done. Maybe you guys can find something in the boot trace and suggest a solution.

    If you`ve done a clean install and set your bios to defaults, I can`t see how your boot times could get any faster. But something is not right, that`s a long boot time. Is there any quick boot option in the bios ?

    I checked, but there is no Quick Boot option in my mobo

    My mobo is GA-78LMT-USB3

    1 hour and 9 minutes or 1 min. and 9 sec. = 69 sec.

    lol..no it's 1 min and 09 secs

    but this time it clocked at 1min & 35 secs. So it keeps changing with every boot
