Mine was 'Automatic' so changed to 'Manual', clicked Apply, OK, then closed. But it's not set at 'Started', should it be?
Did I do the sfc wrong?

If you mean 'Startup' that's OK. It need not be there. But the automatic setting was LO too.But it's not set at 'Started', should it be?
There is not much you can do wrong with the sfc /scannow. You got a log, so it worked.
I really wonder what's wrong in your system. I am puzzled too.
"But the automatic setting was LO too" - what's LO mean?
And while cruising around the forum I saw an old post of yours where you said something similar to "not to worry over Events as long as PC works ok" so am wondering if I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill? I guess it works ok, I just can't understand how things can be right when words like 'Critical', Catastrophic failure', etc. show up. ???
LOL, yeah, I remember that post. I am a practical guy. If it works, I don't really worry. I have a lot of events in my event viewer. I hardly ever look at them.
If you copy and paste this the information might help whs.
vssadmin list shadowstorage
As per post #6 by whs.
It works for me.
Was there another attempt at icacls within a cmd prompt, with the space(s) required?
@LB, just tried copy/paste & got the same as my 1st one. Am I doing Command correct in that once the info is pasted in there I "press enter key"?
@WHS, sorry, I haven't got the hang of 'quotes' yet so I think you missed my question about 'LO' in #'s 12 & 13. And even after making the change in Services yesterday, a warning showed up in Events today. Was I supposed to reboot after I made that change?
I did Run as Admin. Is this VSS issue really anything to worry about or should I just drop it?
Would running VEW, for you guys to look at, be of any help? I ran it last year for Jacee.
