    Event Viewer Errors & Warnings

I'd hoped to resolve these myself but right off the bat I don't understand what to do or where to go.

This VSS one tells me to "check security on the volume" but I don't even know where to go to do that.

My Event Viewer is loaded with errors & warnings. Many people have said to ignore it for the most part but I am having a couple issues that I think could be resolved by going thru' some but I just get lost. I just don't know enough computer-eez (if there is such a word) to feel confident that I won't mess things up worse.

I'd already read that stuff but got kinda lost so just went back to re-read, had my doubts about me getting anywhere because as from what I see, my shot shows ? where other wise it would be C: or whatever. I went ahead & tried it but maybe I typed in wrong info. Here's my shot of Command.
Could the ? Volume be due to that free Office (sorry, can't think of name right now) that came with my PC that I guess made it's own spot because I guess it's "virtual"????

I've noticed in the command prompt, there was no space after icacls AND no space before /grant. That would explain the failed attempt.

Is there a third-party Backup program running?

Maybe I did type wrong, I went by what I read in the links Jacee provided & it's hard for me to really tell where there should or shouldn't be spaces.

No third party backup & I know I'm gonna end up in "Deep doo-doo" one of these days if I don't get my fanny in gear & get something setup. Finances have kept me from doing so.

vss errors are most likely coming from system restore. Run this command and post the result

    vssadmin list shadowstorage

The command is correct. There is a problem with your VSS. Run his command:

    sfc /scannow

I'm grasping at straws here. Could my problem possibly be something set wrong in Services? I don't think I've ever done anything in there, wouldn't know how to set what.

I did sfc for a different problem 3 wks ago (already had several VSS in Events at that time) & it broke my email, did get it back tho' thru System Restore but was told that every time I do sfc it will cause my lose.

Did go in to Events a bit ago & have 2 new ones, different ID #'s. Thought I was so darn smart, clicked on the copy button, pasted in Notepad so I could post here but don't know what to type in the 'Save' box to get it saved . So will start out by posting shot of just the "properties box" for now. Will also post my sfc results from 4/7.

Sorry to be such a PIA.

    1. there is nothing in the SFC log that points to a problem. Only INFO.

    2. Go to Services, find the Volume Shadow Copy, right click on that and go to Properties. What does it say next to Startup Type. It should be Manual, if not, set it to manual and close the window.
