Slow Bootup, but no errors… What happened?

I have Windows 7 64 bit Pro. My computer has been very stable and free of errors. On Dec 14 I did all the windows updates and also installed Microsoft Silverlight. Everything was successful and the computer continued to work fine. Two days later I powered up the computer and it took 5 minutes to boot!! This has never happened before and normal bootups take less than a minute. During the 5 minute bootup the hard drive was active the whole time! After bootup, the computer was sluggish for a few minutes and then settled out. I examined the event viewer and found no errors or warnings! The usual informational events were all the same as during healthy bootups except for longer time delays between events. I shut the computer down which took 45 seconds instead of the usual 15 seconds. Everything has been completely normal since then. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and did a scans before and after this incident and found nothing. Does anyone have any idea what may have caused this? Is there anything I should do or just ignore it since its working fine now?
    Thanks.

you may want to run ( chkdsk ) and see if there any errors.

Thanks scrooge. I ran chkdsk and the results are below. Also, I run chkdsk about every 2-3 weeks and the below is not an uncommon result. I'm not sure if this is normal or indicates a problem in the works. Any ideas?

Hi Tweakit, did it fix your problem? If not try an SFC /SCANNOW

I think that that unused index entries is a common finding with chkdsk.

Run a full scan with Malwarebytes.

    Run SFC linked earlier.

If these do not help try Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace - Windows 7 Forums

Thanks folks for the various responses! The problem hasn't returned and everything is normal now except for the one incident I describbed above (humm... wierd). I will try the mentioned debug tools if it ever happens again. :)

Hey Tweakit, would love to know what worked for you?

Check Disk, System File Checker, MalwareBytes or Other?

Hi Facofjoe, The problem only happened one time so I haven't actually tried anything other then the ckdsk run I posted above. Also it worked fine for 3-days following the problem before I ran chkdsk so its hard to say if chkdsk helped or not. I plan to try the other things you mentioned but as long as its working fine now I'll wait on that. Also nobody commented on the following line seen in the chkdsk result: "Correcting errors in the Volume Bitmap. Windows has made corrections to the file system." I'm not sure if that statement is a normal chkdsk outcome or not??

Try running Chkdsk again, see what happens.
