Hard Drive Memory disappearing and c:\END appearing in c drive

First, sorry if I'm a little slow with some of this as I'm moderate with my computer knowledge.

Earlier today I had 517 gb of memory available in the C drive. I restarted my computer earlier today and once it restarted I saw I was down to 1.84 gb. I ran crap cleaner already and did a quick scan with malwarebytes but no answers.

I also noticed a new file listed named c:\END. When you open this with notepad it says "conduitok"

There also seems to be ads and a new toolbar listed in IE. Any ideas how to find out what the heck is going on here?

    Thanks!

    jffl29,

welcome to the forums. The c:\End you can right click and delete. I would run Malwarebytes (free edition) and adwcleaner.

I ran malwarebytes earlier and had no results. I ran the other program you mentioned which slightly helped. I'm not up to 3.68 gb. It looks like those ads have been removed as well. Like I said though, before restarting my computer earlier, I had 517gb available. So I'm still unsure what's going on.

517GB of hard drive space? If that is the case to a system cleanup

    System cleanup

If you are talking about memory please update your system specs using this

    Specs

Your current specs show 32bit windows which will allow less than 4gb of memory

Sorry about that. I updated my system specs. It was 64-bit not 32. Disk cleanup would only give me an additional 4.97mb of space. I did run ccleaner earlier today which may be why it's such little space.

So are you worried about your memory then? Post a screenshot of resource monitor memory tab. If you use the specs link tool I posted that would help too.

Look in the lower left corner of Dude's post and my post and you will see (My System Specs); tick on them. That is what we mean by system specs.

Run this program, make a snip of the result and post it here: http://windirstat.info/
