Windows 7: Startups/Boot Performance/100-all the time Critical

Windows 7 home premium x64

I am going to try and grab a Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate install disc. I need to talk to the people where I'll be buying the SSD. They are reputable and have always treated me with respect. The knowledge you have left me with here gives me the ability to delegate what I want done if I choose to let my friend do the work. I still don't know if I trust myself to go the full route on the install of both the SSD and my old hard drive. I do have that 2nd slot for the hard drive or the SSD. One thing ACER did right. They left any empty bay for either a SSD or another piece of hardware. I'll let you know when I get this done.

There's no reason why you can't do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Everything needed including the installer for your licensed version is in the tutorial. We will be here to help you as you go. You will end up with a much better install than anyone else can do for you.

Programs can be reinstalled over time as they are needed, best so you can better notice any changes in performance they cause.

Just as Greg says mate if I could afford it I would have the boot SSD a 256 one for "elbow room" but 120GB is ok and you can use that Users tutorial for the rest.

I do hope you can afford to do it mate as the two clean installs I have done on my Toshiba laptops have breathed new life into them so much so that you wouldn't know they were the machines I bought originally. To be honest I had so many problems with hardware while they wee in their original state it was costing me buckets of money since the installs - nil!!

Constant BSOD for first time startups*
OK, here's the thing. My laptop had been experiencing *constant* BSOD for the past month. Weirdly, the BSOD mostly occurred after 5-10 minutes of usage when I start the laptop up for the first time. When it restarted after having a BSOD, it usually runs just fine. This had been a constant thing for...
