I tried to start the service, I got the same error.

I'll try it in the morning after I restart my computer.

Make sure this Remote Procedure Call (RPC) search is on and set to Automatic Startup

Open Notepad . Paste the highlighted text below inside Notepad

    @echo off
    sc config WSearch start= delayed-auto
    sc start WSearch
    exit

Click on File ===> Save As

    Location: Desktop
    File Name : WindowsSearch.bat
Save as type : All Files

    Close Notepad

Right click on the WindowsSearch.bat file choose

Restart the PC . See if the Windows Search is Started and Running

    Ok let's see something

    Go to this folder C:\windows\system32\config\TxR

delete all files with .BLF and .REGTRANS-MS extensions

Press the Alt key on your keyboard and click on Tools or click on Organize
    Select Folder Options
Click the View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is selected under Hidden files and folders
Next, uncheck the box next to Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
Then, uncheck the box next to Hide extensions for known file types
    Click Apply then click OK

Once these files are deleted, reboot the PC and see if he Windows Search service has started .

I cannot delete all of the files, because 7 of them are "open in System"

I tried starting in safe mode, still can't delete them.

See if this tutorial will help

    CLFS transaction logs - Reset

Just delete these extensions .BLF and .REGTRANS-MS

Or use the Microsoft Fix below

I tried both of those. The Microsoft Fix stopped because it "failed to fix detected errors".
Using the tutorial above was no difference- I even disabled the GUI and tried to delete them from safe mode with cmd!

The only other option would be to try to delete the files at a WinRE level using a boot disk, which I don't have.

Thanks for the help, I can tell you really tried to fix this, but I can probably live without the ability to search my computer, LOL.
