Transfer speed is slow even being a new laptop.

I bought this laptop 20 days ago and I defragmented my drives as well as did error checking on both of them but, still the transfer speed of laptop in the pc as well as through usb 3 is slow. It is around 27Mbps. Can't find any reason for it.

My Pc config is:
Intel Core i7
AMD 7730m 2GB
Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Wandering one

Win7 sp1 Pro 64bit / XP sp2 Pro (games only)

I maybe a long way off but that sounds like the old XP problem of not haveing the DMA xfer rate ticked.

Windows 7 Ultimate Retail Box (64-bit installed) + Service Pack 1

OP, in device manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers, any USB 3.0 items there? If not, missing drivers to take advantage of it, possibly.

See Intel's website specs/downloads for that motherboard in particular, chipset included!
See if upgrade for BIOS is available also, and might need to look in BIOS settings for USB related fare to enable.

usb 3.0 Transfer Speed Very Slow
I've done alot of reading about transfer rate with 2.0 and 3.0. For 2.0 it's 480 MB/s and for 3.0 it's 5 GB/s. Copying a 2GB item from computer to external HHD. Using 3.0 port on my notebook on test 1 it's around 34MB/s and then on test 2 the speed might be 3.57MB/s, and then on test 3, it's...

USB Stick has a slow transfer speed
Ohai. I've got a Kingston Datatraveler 2.0 USB stick. On other PCs (Both windows 7 and XP), I was getting write speeds of up to 30MB/s, averaging around 22MB/s. On my currently laptop, I'm only getting around 7MB/s for large files, with the peak at 11MB/s. Small files transfer at around 2MB/s...
