    Windows 7 pressing restart causes shutdown instead


    I have a HPTC running Windows Home Edition x64

    If I press the restart box, or the computer restarts itself, the computer will shutdown instead

    Pressing shutdown causings the computer to shutdown in the normal way

    BIOS is showing it's default settings, and wiring from the case reset and power switches is OK

    By restart box do you mean the restart selection you see when you click on the arrow next to Shutdown in the Start menu?
