    Defrag on SSHD

Now that I have SSHD installed, I wonder if defrag should be any different than regular HDD. I just do not want to defrag SSD part. So far did not come across anything that will give me access to it, still..

    Thanks in advance.

Yes it should be different. Disable it for SSD'd it's not required.

Windows will disable it, you needn`t worry.

So I should just use it like I would use on HDD, right?

    Use what ?

Nothing will change, you are not using defrag on the ssd, only on your hd drives.

Open up disk defragmentor and you`ll see next to your ssd it should say "never run" and if you click on configure schedule>select disks you will see your ssd is not even listed.

    Don`t worry about it.

I was talking about defrag program, like defraggler.

Since this is SSHD, it is not listed as SSD and HDD. It just shows as the drive.

OK, so if those 3 partitions you show there are all on your solid state drive, they say never run, because they haven`t been. Now click on configure schedule, and select disk, your ssd will not be on the list.

if you leave your PC unattended while at the Windows log-in screen (- ie. don't log in..)
after a while the system will automatically initiate a TRIM of your SSD - it will sort thru
the disk and perform something akin to a defrag.. takes about an hour or so to complete..
