The system has experienced boot failures...

I turned my PC on today and was greeted with this error:

I have never overclocked my computer so I know that the issue is not caused by that, one thing that I noticed is that after running a Windows Index assessment, the Windows Index for 'Memory operations per second' is now 7.6 when is was 7.9 at the last time I ran the assessment, only a week or 2 ago, I don't know if that could be related to the error but I thought I should mention it anyway.

Another thing I noticed, but this could be completely normal is, in the error it states that my current CPU speed is 3.50GHz when my CPU is a i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.70GHz

This is the first time I have seen this error and so far it has only appeared once and has not come back after at least 3 cold boots.

    thanks,

So you have not changed your voltages ether? I know you stated you did not overclock but did you mess with voltages?

Try setting the bios to default settings.

Also, if you ram score suddenly went down like that, check your ram with Memory Diagnostics Tool

Sorry, I probably should have mentioned that I havn't changed voltages at all, and my bios is still set to default settings.
I'm not sure if this could cause the error but I have just found out that my roommate turned on my computer while I wasn't home and turned it off (most likely during POST) by holding down the power button, could this have caused the error?

I checked my RAM with Memory Diagnostics Tool and no errors were detected.

That could have. I know you said your bios was already at default values, but did you try telling it to do that again?
You could also unplug the power cord for a bit as well as the cmos battery and see if the issue stops.
If all power is gone from the pc, the bios might forget about the error.

You can still get into windows right? It's just the error message displays in the beginning?

I can get into windows, the error message has not returned, it has only appeared that one time, since the memtest found no errors what would you recommend I do about the drop of my rams Windows Index?

OK good the error has not returned then. I would not worry to much about it. Does your computer seem to run any slower? If u ran a mem test and everything came back OK your fine. If you would like, you could clear all your scores and rerate the system.

I haven't noticed any changes of my computers speed, I have tried re-rating my system but still get 7.6, is there any reason why I would have got that drop in my WIndows Index? If there were no issues with the mem test?

I honestly am not sure why the rating for the ram went down. It is the ram score that went down, not the base score correct?

If you have not noticed a difference in the computer speed, then I would not worry about it.

Usually drivers are the case if its a video card, etc. But with it being ram that seems a little weird.
    I honestly am not sure.

Yes it was only the ram rating and not the base score, I guess I will just leave it as it is and check on it every so often.

    thanks for all the help.

No problem. Tried my best. I can ask other members to see if they have any suggestions.
