Why isn't my computer working to it's full potential?

I have 6 gb of ram, and usually games and web browsers like firefox take up 900,000 or 1,000,000 kb of memory. that's around 1 gb of ram. I still have 5 more gb that could be used to make my programs and games run more efficient. Is there a way to do that without overclocking? Because my gpu isn't compatible with overclocking. I don't care if my computer heats up, I just want it to work more efficiently.

Your computer will only use as much RAM as it requires (e.g. when loading more programs or performing RAM intensive applications).

You cannot force your computer to use more RAM than it needs, regardless of how much RAM is available. Your computer is working as intended, you just haven't been able to test its potential.
