    System check?

I have a Win 7 64 bit Home Premium Acer Aspire 5738z and it has started to freeze the screen, so I have to manually switch off and restart.

I have MSE, CCleaner, Malewarebytes and Superantispyware, is there anything else out there I can try?

    Hi Jonesnewton,

    Welcome to the Seven Forums

First off, I'd lose the Superantispyware app. It's a personal preference, but with MSE and Malwarebytes, there's no need for Superantispyware. Not only that, but there are better solutions that we can refer you to once your issue is resolved.

Secondly, I'd go to a command prompt and run "SFC /scannow" and post the results here.

Third, hit your Windows key, then type MSCONFIG. Then check the startup to be sure that everything there is something you need and can use. Uncheck any boxes that you don't NEED, i.e. AdobeUpdater, etc... then reboot.

Post your results, and good luck.

Read this and then run the check.

Malwarebytes and Superantispyware are both good malware fighters. I would keep both as one well pick up some items the other may miss. I run mse with mbam (paid) and run sasw (paid) once a week. Be careful with Ccleaner it can delete items you need.

I ran SFC/scannow and nothing, then done System Update Readiness Tool and re ran SFC twice and still nothing.
Also ran misconfig and turned off alot of items.
So will use laptop now and see what happens?

If you have any other software that might help I would be grateful..

    Thanks.
