    System freeze

My PC is behaving quite strangely. My system would randomly freeze for a few seconds and unfreeze. The cursor also behaves strangely simultaneously. Sometimes the cursor changes it color to translucent red or green, becomes text like when it shouldn't, becomes invisible. I am using Razer deathadder and just updated the latest drivers but to no avail. I have no BSOD, viruses and spyware. Please help.

I have this same exact problem and it just started recently (within the last few weeks I would guess). The computer has been running flawlessly since November 2012. Windows was last installed 3 months ago. I haven't figured out the problem yet, and it has only occurred maybe 6 or 8 times, but one thing I have noticed is that every time it happens, Firefox is running and is the active window. It has never happened when Firefox is not running.

-Check for updated video drivers again
-Make sure that all cords are snug (it happens)
-Recheck for threats with malwarebytes and a good Antivirus using the full scan options.
-Check your monitor settings and reset to factory default.
-Try the calibrate color option in control panel under display
-It's possible that a sata port on the motherboard is going bad where the hard drive is plugged in. Try a diffrent sata port.
-Check your hard drive for errors using disk check
-Check hard drive for errors using the manufacturers hard drive check. Western digital, seagate

In my case, I'm now thinking the last Windows update did something that didn't agree with Firefox. Firefox ESR was just updated recently and I haven't had the problem since.

That computer is all new and had worked flawlessly for the 9 months previous to having the problem. All cables are tight, all drivers updated, and the SSD has no problems. It had never been connected to the internet the first time the problem occurred (other than Windows update) and no virus/malware has been detected since. Not sure how a monitor setting or color calibration could affect the computer and cause it to lock up.

Anyway, hopefully the problem stays gone.
