Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate both 32 and 64-bit.
Starter is the only version which does not include it.
What am I missing? When I go to Compare Windows 7 Editions and look at "System Image Backup" it lists "Starter", "Home Basic", and "Home Premium" it says "Yes - Not to network location" . I really do not plan to go to ultimate if I can get this feature in a lighter 64 Bit version. Am I looking at the right feature, or has it changed since the comparrison was published?
I haven't reviewed the details in several months, but as I recall Home Premium and below don't allow you to image to a non-local disk somewhere on a network. It's gotta be to a drive within the PC, an external drive, or DVD. And I think maybe you can only keep one backup at a time with HP and below?? Something like that--if you make one today, you have to give up the one you made last week. Pro and Ultimate allow you to stockpile images, and to store the images on network discs.
Reads like Ignatzatsonic has been following my computer educational process. The question now is;
"Having started with Vista64 (and making a full system backup), then upgrading to Win7 HP 64, (only to find HP64 backup didn't support theBackup feature), upgrading to Pro64 (for the Backup feature) only to find Pro backup doesn't function due to an inabilty to deal with a Shadow Copy glitch....................."
Do you think there could be a "stockpile" problem????
A number of the Forum people are confronted by this problem -- I tried all of the proffered solutions and none resolved the problem EXCEPT, the observation that Macrium Reflect offers an excellent Backup program.
It does, I did and with the stipulation I am out of a bunch of hours wasted in my ongoing computer trials an trib's it has been a Wurlitzer (sp?).
I now have Backups -- Thank you very much Macrium Reflect.....
Needless to say I shall continue to monitor the Forum for a resolution to the Pro64
problem.
