Startup repair - system files integrity check failed

Yesterday my Windows 7 machine crashed a couple times - the first time the screen just went black, and the second time it looked like a video driver problem. There was no BSOD either time, I had to do a hard power off and then restart.

When I started up the computer after the second crash, Windows gave me an option to do a Startup Repair, so I did that. After a half hour or so, it told me that some sort of system files integrity check had failed and it couldn't fix it. But still I was able to boot into Windows and everything seems to be working OK.

I looked in the event log to see if I could find that error about the system files integrity check failing, but I couldn't find it. Should I be worried about the fact that the integrity check failed?

Run sfc /scannow from a Elevated Command prompt. I believe that is what the repair process was talking about.

I just ran "sfc /scannow" from an elevated command prompt and it told me "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." Weird.

My computer is getting worse. It crashed yesterday coming out of sleep mode (it is a laptop) and also crashed after I restarted and tried to login. Seemed like a video-related problem because I saw the video on the screen go crazy before the crashes. I did update to the latest video driver yesterday. But now I can't even boot into Windows anymore. (Note that I am running Windows in a Boot Camp setup on a Macbook Pro.) I'm going to try to back up all my Windows data from within Mac OS X before I try booting into Windows again.

You may want to ask for help in an Apple forum, if there is such a thing.

Have you run Startup Repair as well as checked for infection and System File integrity? These can be done from boot using steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start
