Hello Porchie, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Where you able to run chkdsk in a command prompt at startup instead?

Does it give you an error message when running it at boot?

For now, go ahead and run a sfc /scannow command to see if you have any issues with your system files.

Continue to do the blue Note box under step 4 in Option Two until SFC is hopefully able to fix everything.

Did you download the x64 (64-bit) version of the hotfix?

Well, for now continue with SFC until your system files have hopefully been repaired, then try chkdsk again.

That's fine. Continue to do what's in the blue Note box under step 4 in Option Two in the same tutorial below until SFC is able to repair the files.
