SFC /scannow Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair se

    Hello All,

I've been digging around the site for a view days trying to solve this problem. Earlier this week my computer would not reach log in screen. It started with a series of BSOD related to BlueCoat K9 and AVG. I entered safe mood and removed AVG and the system was able to reach log in but hanged setting up desktop or failed to access file. Repaired using chkdsk /r at boot up. Now I am able to log on and the computer appears stable although it has not been left on for along period of time. Here is the issue:

SFC /Verifyonly shows errors, however, unable to run because of said issue in title :Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service

I've checked for pending.xml--- none found
Launched install disk to repair but still doesn't work

I really don't want to do a repair install, which seems to be what every one ends up doing. Please help.

As above, make sure you are running as admin, if still no joy have a read of this and run the SF tool, click grab all and post the requested files, may give us some insight into whats been going on :)

    Thanks for the replies.

    cmd.exe was ran in admin.
BSOD is currently not the issue.

This issue is not being able to run SFC /scannow and sfc /verifyonly reports errors.
