Did that I even uninstalled two applications, re-booted the PC and then reinstalled the apps - no change!

I'm convinced the problem lies with a setting in the registry, but I'm reluctant to poke around in there - I did edit the settings in IsShortcut but that did not resolve the issue.

The applications run when I click on the icon - it's just that there is another graphic super-imposed on top of the application icon.

Did that - no effect I even uninstalled two applications, rebooted and reinstalled them - the icons returned with the overlay.

I'm convinced that the problem lies somewhere in the registry, but I am hesitant to go there...... I did edit IsShort cut, without any change.
