Windows eats up space! How do I get back space?

    1) Turn off hibernation
    2) Turn off page file
    3) Turn off system restore

    These are the 3 things you can do to gain space.

    Also, windows update backups can be deleted.

    Or simply get a larger hard drive.

    To illuminate what my colleagues have said. The w7 OS in and of itself will occupy 12GB-20GB depending on the version , Languages packs, and updates installed. Everything else is what we users add.
    I believe Lightroom will allocate a large temporary scratch space while you have it open. You may consider another drive to store personal data on and move it off the C\ Drive if you're getting a low space warning often.
